It was revealed that the Syria discussion included safe zones, something Trump has advocated for both as a candidate and as president, as well as future cease-fire talks to happen on May 3rd and 4th in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The leaders who have previously been at odds
over the best way to handle the Syria situation "agreed that the suffering in Syria
has gone on for too long and that all parties must do all they can
to end the violence", according to a White House readout of the call.
From the look of things there are indication that the two powerful presidents would meet in person sometime soon. probably in July before
the G20 meeting in Hamburg.
