OUTLAST THE NOMINEES LIST FOR ABUJA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL IS OUT.

After weeks of deliberation and screening the much anticipated nominees list for the 13th edition of the Abuja International Film Festival have finally been announced by the College of Screeners. A total of 721 films were received from 47 countries with Nigeria accounting for 273 films. These films cut across all genre of film making.
According to the Chairman of the college of screeners, Mr Olumide Akindele, this year the Screeners observed a major improvement in the quality of films from Africa with several of the themes addressing topical societal issues. The college were able to screened and arrive at the final list films in 15 categories that was released this afternoon.
In the words of , Tunmise Michael, Project Assistant , the nominees were selected after a painstaking several weeks of screening of over 721 films from 47 countries, the screeners made up of industry stakeholders including filmmakers and film critics expressed appreciation with the improved quality of films especially from Nigeria. Films were received in all genres – features, shorts, documentary, animation and experimental films,
Winners will be announced at the festival’s glamorous award ceremony scheduled for 4th-7th October 2016 in Abuja.Some of the categories are as follows,OUTSTANDING COMIC FILMS and the nominees included LOVE IS A PRANK,AMAKYE AND DEDE,GO SLOW,ATM while OUTSTANDING MALE ACTOR, has DANIEL K. DANIEL,GENE BERET,MAJID MICHEL,MUYIWA ADEMOLA,I.K OGBONNA,JIANG HU and PRINCE DAVID OSEI as nominees. In the OUTSTANDING FEMALE ACTRESS category talented Nollywood diva, BUKKY WRIGHT and the likes of ANN NJEMANZE,LINDA EJIOFOR,JULIET IBRAHIM,JOKE MUYIWA,JUDITH AUDU and NOORTTJE HEERLAR made up the list.
The Abuja International Film Festival is an initiative of the NAFIFO VENTURES an organization registered under the corporate affairs commission .The Festival is affiliated to four major international festivals; DURBAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, DAHLEGONA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL GEORGIA, ZIMBABWE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AND COMMONWEALTH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
