AFRICA FASHION WEEK LONDON MOVES TO FREEMASONS' HALL.

Africa Fashion Week London has  announced Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden as the venue for  AFWL’s seventh season on 11-12  August 2017.

After 3 years at London Olympia, Africa Fashion Week London has sought a new backdrop for their annual show.

This prestigious venue has been the home of many fashion shows including the LFW off schedule powerhouse, Fashion Scout; but none will match the vibrancy of the African design aesthetic!

Two full days of catwalk shows will be held in the beautiful Grand Temple space.  Exhibition showcases will be held in the elegant Foyer and Vestibules.  Look out for another South African contingent of top designers – many representing for the first time in London.

Africa Fashion Week London, is Europe's largest African-inspired  fashion and catwalk event and has produced 6 annual shows; showcased 800 burgeoning and established designers from 25 countries and  has attracted over 90,000 audience members and over 1000 foreign and domestic press.

Since 2011  AFWL has hosted designers that are inspired by the African continent, textiles and artisan workmanship, and use the AFWL platform as a stepping stone into global exposure, recognition  and  sustainability.
2017 also sees the introduction of our initiative AFWL54 which will sponsor a winning young designer from one of the 54 countries of Africa to showcase on the AFWL 2017 catwalk. Quality production, prestigious venues, informative networking seminars and scheduled power-talks have all given Africa Fashion Week London a reputable positive track record of inspiration, excellence and youth empowerment and increasingly participating in the encouragement of social  upward mobility.
