LAFUP THE CIRCUS HITS LAGOS IN SEPTEMBER.

As the year is running to an end entertainers and event producers are all working hard to make the year a memorable ones with lots of shows happening on a weekly basis.  Another comedy show that is set to take Lagosians on a new realm of entertainment, is Laffup The Circus, by the talented comedian Lafup. 

Being his first major personal show ,Comedian Lafup takes center stage as he leads a band of veteran comedians and funniest Nollywood actors to a circus, at the Debut edition of his show at the Muson centre ,Onikan Lagos. Lafup is regarded as one of the top young and classy comedian  in the business. The show which hitherto had berthed in Ibadan on Easter Sunday March 27th 2016 and Osogbo on June 12 2016  recorded outstanding successes with the two shows being sold out.

The Abeokuta show which is a home coming for Gbenga Adeyinka 1st has been tagged ‘Olumo Rocks’ and as part of preliminary logistical work the ace Comedian has visited Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun FCA , past president of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and His Royal majesty the Osile Oke Ona Oba Adedapo Tejuosho CON who have all expressed their pleasure at the coming of the show and have all blessed as well pledged support for a successful hosting of the show. The June 12 Cultural Center has been earmarked as venue while artistes are already being shortlisted for the show and sponsorship drive is in top gear.

According to the ace comedian, “this particular edition is very dear to my heart as in my over 25 years in showbizness this is the very first time i will be staging a show in my hometown of Abeokuta and as such  my team and I have rolled up our sleeves and will be rolling out the drums for a show that will make Abeokuta proud of me. The sharing happiness brand Maltina is the lead sponsor of the event while the Ogun State Government have pledged support” he concluded.

When is Notting Hill Carnival?

Notting Hill Carnival takes place every year on the Sunday and Monday of the UK summer bank holiday weekend, which is the last weekend in August.

This year, the carnival takes place on 28 and 29 August. Take a look at the 2016 carnival programme below to see what time the festival starts and what's on each day.

Notting Hill Carnival 2016 Programme

Sunday 28 August:

Jouvert (6am to 9am)

Start the day early with the traditional Caribbean carnival opening, Jouvert (from the French “jour ouvert”, meaning day break). Don your finest carnival outfit or fancy dress, follow the procession which starts and ends at Canal Way, Ladbroke Grove, and dance along the streets of Notting Hill.

Children’s Day (10am to 8.30pm)

Bring the whole family and watch the Notting Hill Carnival performers show off their elaborate costumes as they dance and swirl through the streets in a colourful parade. Visit the World Music Stage at Powis Square and catch beautiful calypso and soca performances, as well as many other genres of music. Enjoy delicious Caribbean food and drink from the many street food stalls, as you wander along the parade route and discover its many stages, playing different musical styles with amazing stage shows.

Monday 29 August:

Grand Finale (10am to 8.30pm)

See 60 colourful bands as they dance to the sounds of steel bands and mobile sound systems during the Grand Finale of the Notting Hill Carnival. Discover music and performances on the 38 sound systems along the route and in side streets, and finish at Powis Square, where the World Music Stage’s calypso and soca artists are sure to make you move. BETWEEN DIESEL AND THE ROCK,IS THIS A PUBLICIST STUNT FOR FAST & FURIOUS 8?

It seems all is not well between Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson   two top cast of the famous  Movie series  FAST & FURIOUS , Basically, the set of Fast 8 has now turned into the plot of Fast Five, when The Rock and Diesel’s fictional counterparts traded punches, threw each other through walls, and nearly flattened Rio in the process. WHAT HAPPENED TO “I DON’T GOT FRIENDS, I GOT FAMILY,” VIN?!!

According to TMZ, Johnson and Diesel, who are also both producers on Fast 8, have mostly been at odds throughout production, and Diesel has apparently made some decisions that “didn’t sit well” with the former wrestling champ. While we hate to see our two dads fighting like this, it’s not entirely surprising. After all, a previous report from the set of Furious 7 claimed that Diesel was “extraordinarily difficult” to work with and that he’d often hold up production to go over dialogue and question even the tiniest details in elaborate action sequences.

Given The Rock’s extremely regimented schedule — the man literally has to eat every 90 minutes — he’s probably not down with production delays. E! News also reported that shooting Fast 8 “wasn’t easy for anyone” but was “especially” hard on Johnson. “And while he’s ‘the best guy on the planet to work with,’” an insider told E!, “he's ‘also a very emotional guy’ and ‘likes things to go as he sees fit [while] also being fair.’”

That being said, with a little more than a week to go before the film wraps principal photography, Johnson and Diesel are taking the necessary steps to get their shit together. TMZ reports that they had a meeting on Tuesday, “partly because tensions were running so high it was almost impossible to shoot scenes,” to try and resolve their issues.  in another development  Actor Tyrese Gibson is throwing his support for actor Vin Diesel amid his on-going and ambiguous feud with "Fast and Furious 8" co-star, Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson. Gibson took to Instagram on Thursday to defend Diesel and praise his co-star for his "brotherhood."

"If no one else will jump out there and stand up I will," he noted. Vin Diesel cryptically vows to tell fans ‘everything’ "You're my brother for life, let's keep it positive and keep rocking this thing," he captioned a red carpet photo of him with Diesel. The 37-year-old, who has appeared in the "Fast and Furious" series as Roman Pearce, credited the 49-year-old for inspiring him to be a "better man and father. BREAKING: POPULAR BRITISH ACTOR, KENNY BAKER IS DEAD.

The British actor who played R2-D2 in the Star Wars films has died at the age of 81 after a long illness. Kenny Baker, who was 3ft 8in tall, shot to fame in 1977 when he first played the robot character. He later played the character in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, as well as the three Star Wars prequels from 1999 to 2005.

EKO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS THIS OCTOBER.

The Eko International Film Festival will return for its seventh edition in 2016 from October 24th to 29th. The Film Festival is open to filmmakers from around the world and also contributes to the Nigeria being positioned as a creative hub through its focus on high quality, Nigeria cinema.

Eko International Film Festival is accepting entries to the 7th EKOIFF edition. Applications for submitting films are being accepted on the official EKOIFF website

(Submission starts March 1st and Deadline: July 15, 2016).
